Happy Halloween 2014!!
With enough pumpkin, you can do without a reputation.
75 years old, and still as good as the day it came out. I had not planned to create a tribute to the movie Gone With the Wind this year, but once I saw the movie again a month ago, but in a movie theater for the first time, I couldn't help myself. Another in my series of 360-degree pumpkins, carved all the way around. The carvings are of scenes and characters from the movie, including Mammy, Melanie Hamilton Wilkes, Belle Watling, Bonnie Blue Butler, Rhett Butler, Scarlett O'Hara (Hamilton Kennedy Butler...), Charles Hamilton, Ashley Wilkes, Gerald O'Hara, and Frank Kennedy. And of course, who could forget the plantation, Tara. Pumpkin is about 11 inches in diameter, and rather oddly shaped (I couldn't find a very round one this year). No patterns were used, only screenshots from the movie used as references, drawn on the pumpkin with marker, then carved.
Drawn freehand with marker on pumpkin, carved using woodcarving tools. (2014)
Edit: Sorry it took so long to upload the final copy, between work and being exhausted I somehow never got around to it in the past year.
